We aim to create our own stereotypes of Black Excellence through art and education.
Nubian Nights Out began in December 2014 by a collection of young, progressive, London-based Black women multi-disciplined within the creative industries including, photography, fashion, beauty & PR. Nubian Nights Out was initially created to connect with and have constructive conversations with other like-minded people within the African / Caribbean diaspora in the UK interested in learning more about Black history and identity.
To date, we currently over 1400 members (male & female) on our growing Meetup.com page, on which we organise monthly group outings to support any and all interesting black organised events throughout the UK. Such Meetups include film screenings, lectures, tours and exhibitions.
Given this group’s strong passion for the Arts, it is not surprising that it serves as the chosen medium to aid in bringing about a togetherness among people of African descent within the UK. We continue to work on creating and producing our own innovative visual content, primarily through photography and film which represents people of African descent in a positive light; something we seriously believe is lacking in today’s mainstream media.
WE ARE BOLD. WE ARE UNAPOLOGETIC. AND WE HELP OURSELVES. WE ARE NUBIAN NIGHTS OUT.
