The newest product to the MDMflow family is the liquid matte lipstick. Created by Florence Adepoju whilst studying BSc in Comsmetic Science at the London College of Fashion. Florence was unhappy with that lack of shade created for women with darker skin tones. MDMflow was created inspired by the nighties/noughties and created in her parents shed. Now her range of lipsticks are now stocked in Topshop and online retailer Nastygal. I will be reviewing the latest edition addition to the range the matte liquid lipsticks in colours Empire State and Power.
In 8 great shades which are great for summer which seems to have finally started.
MDMflow have continued with the gold theme they had on their original semi matte lipstick. So far I have had my lipstick in my rucksack and it hasn’t chipped at all.
The actual matte lipstick has a pleasant smell compared to some matte lipsticks which have a chemical smell. I made the mistake of layering the lipstick the first time I used it, which made my lips patchy after a few hours and I had not eaten or had a drink.
So second time round I did each lip with one swipe, which can be done because the lipstick is extremity pigmented. Perfect. The colour stayed put for most of the day, I only noticed the inner lip which tends to be the problem area with all Matte liquid lipsticks. The site does not make claims on how long the lipsticks are meant to stay on. But you do get a comfortable wear for around 4hrs without having to reapply. Exfolitate and moisturising your lips before using any matte liquid lipsticks.
The price is quite high compared to high street bands offering similar products. However the fact that Florance created the formula for her products herself the higher price is to be expected.
Special Thanks to @EnamAsiama allowing me to paint her beautiful face xx
