I wanted to highlight and encourage us to keep our black pounds in our community. In the past few years major brands have been trying to more 'inclusive' by introducing more colour ranges for black women or women of colour.
I find we tend to easily pleased all it takes is a black model or celebrity and we give that company a pat on the back. Yassss thanks for including us and its about time comments. But is it really?!
As we all know should know by now just because they have decided to directly market to us. Does that automatically mean that brand respects us, appreciate's our culture and wishes us well. Most of the time NOT. The hierarchy of these companies have not changed, its mainly white male/female making these decision. It has been estimated that we spend six times mores than other ethnicities but we have been ignored. So why now the sudden interest?? Its all about universal colour of the green. Money.
So instead of running so quickly to these brands why not support products and services made by us for us.
